Fitting your Appliance

What if my appliance doesn’t feel right or comfortable?

Is your new dental/orthodontic appliance not fitting the way you expected? No worries, at Teeth Retain Design, we make it easy to send your appliance back for FREE adjustments within the 30 day warranty timeframe. Just contact us via live chat. There are a few things that may have occurred.

It is common for a new retainer to feel tight when you first receive it. This tightness is caused by slight movement of your teeth that occurs between the time you take your impression and the time you receive your new retainer. Give it a couple of days and your teeth will realign to the shape of the retainer making it fit comfortably.

The second possibility is that something went wrong while taking the impression. If we don’t have an adequate impression of your teeth, the result is a retainer that will not fit properly. In this case, it may be necessary to take a new impression. This possibility is why we urge getting approval on yourself taken impression before sending it back. Once you take a new impression, please send it back with the retainer that didn’t fit, along with the old impression. We’ll then make a new retainer from the new impression and promptly ship it back to you.

If you feel any pain or discomfort while wearing your new dental appliance stop using it immediately and contact us. Remember, Teeth Retain provides complimentary adjustments for your appliance, so just send us an email or give us a call. We will discuss what needs to be done to make your appliance feel just right. We also suggest contacting a local dentist in your area as they can make adjustments for a minimal fee.

The impression is key to making your appliance fit perfect. We will work with you, making sure you get the right impression. Please refer to the section under FAQ to find out more about how your impressions should be.

Please make sure to read all detailed information before placing your order. All our appliances are crafted by our specialized laboratory techs.
